Our Augmented Reality system brings real-time 3D visualization (including the pre-operative plan developed in VR) into the operating room. By overlaying a patient’s digital twin—generated from 2D imaging data—directly onto the surgical field, we help surgeons gain clear, multi-angle views of fracture patterns and anatomical structures. This enhances procedural decision-making, implant alignment, and screw placement accuracy.
Seamlessly integrated or used independently, our VR and AR systems enable full-case surgical planning in VR that transitions effortlessly to intraoperative guidance with AR. Surgeons can interact with the 3D model using voice commands and hand gestures, maintaining a sterile field while navigating complex anatomy with ease.
OUR History
SeeMed, LLC has developed virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) products for various medical specialties. Virtual reality system is immersive 3D technology generally used in teaching (with networked devices), demonstration, and pre-procedure planning. Augmented reality utilizes 3D imaging in the operating room for teaching, procedural visualization and guiding decisions. Utilizing patient’s unique fracture pathology, 2D data is converted into a digital twin of the patient, providing surgeons with unobstructed views of the target anatomy from every angle.
The two technologies (VR and AR) may be linked together or utilized separately. With our technology the orthopedic trauma cases can be fully planned in VR and easily brought into the operating room with AR. The 3D digital files on the patient or next to the patient makes the alignment of the implants and screw even more precise and easier. The 3D anatomy views are manipulated by the surgeon in the sterile operating room utilizing voice commands and hand gestures.
